Despite being an editor I get to shoot almost daily. Thats a blessing for my sanity and a curse when time gets short. Today was planned and made me feel good to be able to take in the fall.

New England

I got to visit with some cousins soon after arriving in New England. Here is my cousin Sam playing the cello for other cousins. I am staying with my aunt in Manchester for a while until my apartment in downtown Concord is OK to move into. No more ground floor for me, so the garden will have to be altered. Don't worry, mojitos will still be available and roast chicken is never far away.



On the way out I got to see Brie and her new boy, all while being entertained by late-night street performances echoing up from across the street, and next door, and down the street.




I got to see my old neighborhood in Niagara Falls as well. So many stories there! If you want to immerse yourself in the cauldron I recommend it, if you handle living on the edge like that.Business meetings at the falls are the least of it.

I got the call to change jobs while I was working on this story. I'm glad that I got the chance to tell it.

leaving Bay City

I did not think my time in Bay City would run so short. But, who can say what will come down the road? This is my last week at the Bay City Times.

Bay City was a great excuse to try new things and push myself and at times the newspaper. I would like to think that I made a difference. It made an impact on me, at least.

Next week I move and on the first day of fall I will start the next chapter in the story as a photo editor. In New Hampshire. At the Concord Monitor.

I would never have predicted that.

Isle Royale

Backpacking on Isle Royale is more rugged than you might expect. So, if you decide to go and want to make pictures, don't try to hike 13 miles. Hike less, shoot more. It was pretty incredible all the same. What can you say when your walk is interrupted by four moose munching on the trail. Kevin and I have been talking about it since at least 2004. Now, the planning for the canoe trip begins.
