scrap keg
Scrap metal prices have been soaring. Copper, steel, tin, you name it. Apparently savvy Michiganders have noticed and also noted that you can now get three times as much money for a keg at the scrap yard as the deposit. Anheiser-Busch noticed too after fewer kegs were being returned. Kalamazooz brewery wanted to raise the deposit by a large amount, but Michigan favored a threefold increase to beat the going rate for the raw materials.
That said, here is my ode to the keg, a keg of Stroh's even.

go to the film
Not my best image of the day, but one that proved a point. Somehow, when no line judges were around, Bay City Central moved into the wrong lane, one occupied by their chief rival, Midland High. That mistake cost them the meet, and gave the advantage to Midland. It was obvious there would be trouble when the Midland runner came by a few seconds later and slammed into the guy handing off the baton, but it was coach against coach, my word against his for the next couple of hours.
I don't think my photo will settle the argument, but I think this one will come closer to closing Central's platform to gripe. They appear to be occupying two lanes.

slideshow
Finally got around doing a slideshow again. Even got to use archival images that I did not take. I might be sticking myself in a niche.
First time using Garage Band or a Marantz recorder and shotgum mic. Moving up to the big time equipment.

gelled homage to David Alan Harvey
I am usually too lazy to gel my strobe. I found some readymade amber and green ones with my new work flash and have been trying them out. Yesterday I went to a schoolkid Cinco de Mayo festival and tried them to fill in the dim and dreary stage lights. Not quite Geographic, but I understand it better.
