snow-filled weekend

Sean and Frea tackle the snowmobile-free trails along the Kancamagus Highway. A foot of snow the day before made things fun.

Ben and Becky make some turns on the Mount Moosilauke Carriage Road just below tree-line. The trail hosted the fist ski race in America in 1927 and was widened back to the way it was in the 1990s. A couple of inches of fresh snow made it enjoyable all the way down.

How high is it?

The cliffs of Mt. Pisgah rise out of Lake Willoughby, Vermont and squeeze out ice cascades for hundreds of feet. But how many hundreds? I couldn't tell until after we climbed an 'easy' route.

Rappeling on two 200-foot ropes--that didn't quite reach the spot we started from.
